What this username generator does
It combines your keyword with theme word lists (adjectives and nouns), then applies style, case, separator, prefix, suffix, and a max length. The list is a shortlist of ideas, not a reservation. GenShelf does not call anyone’s availability API.
How names are assembled
Themes (mixed, cute, gamer, pro, nature, tech) each have their own adjective and noun banks. Classic style tends to adjective+noun; numeric can append digits; compact squeezes pieces together. Case options cover lowercase, camel, and snake-like shapes. Separators are underscore, hyphen, dot, or none.
Exclude words are stripped from candidates so an old nickname or a workplace does not keep resurfacing. Length is applied after assembly — if a combination overshoots, it is trimmed rather than shipped as an invalid handle.
How to choose from the list
Say candidates out loud. Lookalike characters and stacked underscores fail on phone calls. Concatenated words can hide accidental phrases; read each option as a stranger would. If the name has to work for consulting and for a personal account, keep two identities with a clear bio bridge rather than one awkward compromise.

Is the username generator private?
Generation stays in the browser. Nothing is stored. Availability still has to be checked on the destination site — that check, if you do it, is you visiting that site, not GenShelf querying it for you.

Yes. An optional keyword is mixed with theme adjectives and nouns, plus your separator, case, prefix, suffix, and length cap.
Does GenShelf check if a username is available?
No. Suggestions are assembled locally from word lists. Instagram, GitHub, and other sites are not queried. Always confirm on each platform before you print a handle or buy a domain.

Should I use the same handle on every platform?
