Built for a job, not a keyword
Each generator exists because the job is real: print a QR, send an invoice, seed a UUID list, check a local SERP. Pages explain the concept and the limits, not only the button.

If the browser can do the work, the browser does the work. Passwords, UUIDs, UULE values, invoices, and QR codes are created on your device. Nothing you generate is stored in a GenShelf account.

Privacy
Processing stays in your browser
GenShelf does not send your password, invoice line items, QR payload, or pasted draft to a server to “process” them. The page you load includes the JavaScript that does the work. Hosting still sees ordinary request logs (IP, URL, user agent) like any website — that is how the HTML is served, not a copy of the secret you generated.
Two exceptions to “nothing is remembered”: this site can store your theme preference, and the invoice tool can remember From details, logo, and currency in localStorage on this device so the next invoice is faster. Palette share links encode colors in the URL itself. None of that is a GenShelf account.

JavaScript in the page creates the output. Passwords use Web Crypto. QR codes use the qrcode library and Canvas. Invoices calculate totals in the browser.

Most tools copy to the clipboard or download a file locally. Invoices use the browser print dialog for PDF. Closing the tab discards unsaved values.

GenShelf is a free hub of online generators maintained by one person. It exists because utility sites too often hide a simple job behind signups, or send your input somewhere for processing you did not ask for.
The site focuses on tools that can run entirely in the browser, plus guides that explain the job those tools support. It is not a company platform, and it does not claim user counts or awards it does not have.

GenShelf is a small set of free online generators — QR codes, passwords, invoices, UUIDs, palettes, hashtags, and related utilities — plus practical guides. There is no account. Tools run in your browser.
Is GenShelf free?
Yes. The generators are free to use with no account required. The site may show ads to help cover hosting and ongoing work.
Do you store what I generate?
No. Generation happens in your browser. GenShelf does not upload or save the values you create. Invoice From details can stay in this browser’s localStorage if you use that tool; that is on your device, not a GenShelf account.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Open a tool, generate what you need, and copy or download it.
Do QR codes expire?
Static QR codes from GenShelf do not expire. They encode your text or URL directly, so they keep working as long as the destination still does.
Are generated passwords secure?
Random characters use your browser’s crypto.getRandomValues. Choose a longer length and mix character sets, then store the result in a password manager. Closing the tab without copying discards the secret.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The tools are built for phones and desktops, so you can generate and copy on the go.
Are the guides just ads for the tools?
No. Each guide is a standalone how-to (local SERP checks, WCAG contrast, freelance invoicing, UUID v4 vs v7, and more). Tools are linked where they help you do the job.
